Created extensive portfolio pieces and proposal letters for The University of Texas at Austin that was awarded the 2011 “In-House Promotional Excellence Award” for the second year in a row.
Awarded three Academic Honors Awards Scholarships for my graduate studies at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). I graduated with Honors.
Interviewed Oscar winner, sponsored athlete for The North Face and photographer for National Geographic, Jimmy Chin, at The Madison Hotel in Washington, DC. Attended a banquet at Nat Geo headquarters in Chin’s honor. The article was published for Wide World in Europe.
Interviewed Greta Gerwig on the red carpet for the debut of her film “Lady Bird” at the Austin Film Festival. The article was published for The Hollywood Reporter and later redistributed by IMDb.com.
Created Editorial Style Guide for the Thinkery in 2013 during their rebranding process (formerly known as the Austin Children’s Museum).
Assisted Cascade Custom Pools in submitting six portfolio pieces for a nation-wide competition, five of which placed in the top three rankings in 2013 and 2014.
Public speaker at the 2012 IPMA national business conference held in Kansas City.
Granted full scholarship by The David Lynch Foundation to learn transcendental meditation after interviewing CEO of the Lynch Foundation, Bob Roth, for Examiner.com.
Selected amongst 800+ applicants to work at Texas Monthly within Editorial in 2009. One of three hired to work in Custom Publishing for Emmis Communications. Three stories of mine are on TexasMonthly.com.
Wrote a letter of recommendation for Craig Pellar, a fellow employee at The University of Texas at Austin, and he was awarded “Outstanding Team Member of the Year” by NACUMS (National Association of College & University Mail Services).
Georgia College Press Association Conference awarded an article I wrote for District newspaper [“Credit Card Fraud Drains Student Accounts”] 2^nd place for Best News Article – Objective Reporting in 2008.
First SCAD student ever selected to serve as an Editorial Intern at Savannah Magazine.
Qualified for Dean’s List five quarters at the Savannah College of Art & Design for my B.F.A. in Writing: Spring 2007, Fall 2007, Winter 2008, Spring 2008, Fall 2008.
